Why I Don't Shop The NSale

in , by Kate, July 06, 2021
Year after year, we barely get past the 4th of July and *BAM*, Nordstrom comes roaring into our inboxes touting the biggest must-haves of the fall season. Y'all, it's still 80 degrees outside. The last thing I want to do is buy sweaters right now. But let's chat a little more about why I don't shop the Nsale anymore.

Back in the day, and I mean about 10 years ago, the Nsale was absolutely worth it. Designer coats, crazy boot deals, the perfect leather skirt, actual real deals. Now, I can't even find something that isn't covered in foundation from another influencer try on. Plus, to be honest, I'm not crazy about trying on clothes in a pandemic. Yeah, the pandemic is still going on, folks.

I browsed a bit of the preview from this year and I was shocked at how many skinny jean options there are. Aren't they supposed to be out of style? I always debate taking the plunge on a pair of Good Americans, but always manage to hold out.

I honestly can't name a single influencer/blogger who shops and posts about Nordstrom consistently. It's hard for me, as a consumer, to trust that the quality is ~worth the price~ when they were just shilling some amazon finds a week ago. So which is it? Amazon or Nordstrom? Most of the items are more of the same year after year, the moto jackets, the booties, the barefoot dreams cardigan, and if they are such great quality, why should we be buying new versions each year?

By the time the sale is "open" to the full public, the most coveted items are already spoken for anyway. I made a youtube video a few years ago that goes more in-depth into this topic..click here to check it out.
